How to select a centrifugal pump for multiple risers downstream?

Post by watai0102 »

I can't find an books that cover this. I understand how to select a pump if there's one riser downstream but what about two? When there are two risers (humps) that are let's say 100 ft high from the discharge level of a horizontally installed centrifugal pump downstream and then reconnects to the suction of the pump. If we assume no losses from fittings and friction, would I select a centrifugal pump that has a head rated for 200 ft or 100 ft?

For this kind of question, you can use a pipe network calculator from https://www.pipeflowcalculations.com/ne ... ndex.xhtml.
