I have one NAtural gas line having 30 KCM line volume feeding approximately 10.5 MMSCMD gas to different consumer at 30 kg/cm2 pressure, Facing problem of variation in high pressure (upto 5 kg/cm2)due to variation in consumption.
I want to connect it to one isolated segment of line volume 50 KCM( thousand meter cube), it will reduce pressure variation, But connecting both lines have a option by 4 Inch & 8 inch dialines .
Whether this 4 inch/8 inch dia line will able to take care of flow variation between both segment for variable consumption.
Any suggestions pl comment
Length of line 200 meter.
Dia of connecting header 8 inches
consumer are far from the interconnection we are praposing.
Flow capacity of 8 Inch dia line at 30 kg/cm2

Re: Flow capacity of 8 Inch dia line at 30 kg/cm2
First, can you please explain what KCM is for?
What are the distances between two lines - as it is the length of 4 inch / 8 inch line - right?
What are diameters for both lines? Where is that connection going to - if it is far from consumers, than it will not help a lot. If the connection will be closer to consumers than it can be of help if the length is not to big.
To know the capacity of that 8 inch pipe you must know the length of it.
