Re: Elevated tank and piping calculation
You can use calculator for change in elevation, but you have to enter that like pressure difference - like elevation difference of 10 m with water in pipe is pressure difference of 10 mWS. Flow regime is laminar or turbulent depending on the flow itself. You do not need to worry about it. Calculator...

Re: Sudden expansion in duct
Here is what I have with pressure drop calculator just for sudden expansion: 1. volume flow rate (q): q : 0.75 m3/s 3. pipe length (L): L : 1 mm 4. pipe diameter (D): D : 120 mm 5. pipe roughness (kr): kr : 0.1 mm 6. density (ρ): ρ : 1.293 kg/m3 7. kinematic viscosity (ν): ν : 17.3 mm2/s 8. dynamic ...

Re: Natural Gas Pipework, pressure drop
I am not sure that I understand you correctly. You have 100 m long gas pipe line 4" and 4" governor before the burner? The governor has 1.2 bar inlet pressure when burner is off? The governor lets 400 mbar with burner off? When burner starts, pressure goes down to 200 mbar after the govern...

Re: effect of pump speed change at far end of pipe
You can't have two flow rates in one pipe with incompressible fluid like water, so with pump flow dropping from 50 to 40, pipe flow rate will change as well with speed of sound from point a to point b.

Re: Water Turbine Calculations
Actual flow rate you can calculate based on the height difference and pipe diameter that you have. You can't tell at the start that you will have 100 l/s. That you can calculate. Here is report from calculation using pressure drop calculator: Pipe pressure drop calculator 1. volume flow rate (q): q ...

Re: air pressure drop calculation misleading
Hi Adam, As you can see in calculator flow rate has symbol of - qn and it is for normal conditions (p=101325 Pa, T=0) so density is also at that condition. I can also add option to enter flow at p1 or p2 but I think it is not very convenient way for calculation - I think much more often you will not...

For me it makes no sense also.
Where did you get purge rate of 0.00311 min/meter?

Reynolds number calculator for Android phones
Reynolds number calculator is from now available for Android smart phones. Calculator is created on the basis of well established Reynolds number calculator for desktop users. It is designed for simple and quick calculation of Reynolds number based on known diameter, flow stream velocity (volume or ...

What is flow rate?
Is pipe filled with water or is it filled just for some level?

Re: K Factor Calculator for fittings
It depends on velocity that you use with K value. If you calculate minor loss as Dp = K rho * v^2 / 2 and use velocity on D1 than you should use K1, and for D2 - K2.
