Re: Natural Gas - Calculate drop in pressure

Ok, let me try to clarify more: 3600 stands for conversion from sec to hours in flow rate which is in m3/h 33600 is lower heat power of natural gas. It is the value that maybe you have on your bill. The unit is kJ/m3. That represents how much energy you have in kJ from 1 m3 of gas. P - is for Power ...

Re: Natural Gas - Calculate drop in pressure

I suggest you not to use natural gas flow calculator as it is based on the Renauard equation which is suitable for long distance medium and high pressure gas lines. Proper tool is compressible gas flow calculator or just pressure drop calculator . The first one is more precize but requires many prop...

Pipe diameter calculator available for Android devices

Pipe diameter calculator is from now available for Android smart phones. Calculator is created on the basis of well established pipe diameter and flow velocity calculator for desktop users. It is designed for simple and quick calculation of round pipe internal diameter based on known volume or mass ...

Re: Air discharge from a tank using nozzle.

In the link above I tried to set the steps and equations required for time calculation to empty tank. It is for liquid but it can be adopted to be for air as well. Instead of liquid level in tank pressure is in tank is used. As flow drops during time, flow rate change is not linear I can not tell th...

Re: Air discharge from a tank using nozzle.

Calculators are not good to be used for this purpose because you have unsteady flow from tank to atmosphere. I heve tried to explain how it can be done but it is not fully solved: http://forum.pipeflowcalculations.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=10&p=23&hilit=empty#p23 I am not sure what do you ...

Re: what is GPM flow rate through a 6" Schedule 80 at 75 PSI

For 10' 6" pipe with 75 psi on the start and flowing out to 15 psi (atm. pressure) you have very high flow of 7000 gpm and velocity of 24 m/s or 81 ft/s so I think this is not a model you are working on. If you put any obstacles in the flow you will have lower flow rate in the pipe and local fl...

Re: what is GPM flow rate through a 6" Schedule 80 at 75 PSI

You have to know pipe length and valve resistance coefficient K?
Do you also have two reducers 6/3" and 3/6" on the pipe for valve?
Do you have elbows, tees or other obstacles in the pipe line?
Geometry of pipe line must be known to calculate pressure drop.
