Pipe Flow Calculations Forum

When evaluating someone elses control valve sizing, how much cv over/under flow is acceptable? For exampe: a calculated flow of 2.2 cv, actual valve is 10 cv. Is this in an acceptable range? Thanks.

Declared valve Cv is for maximum capacity, which means that your will work with some 22% of full capacity - it is not ideal but I think it can work.
If you are buying new one than it is better to choose other.
