Flow Calculation

Post by kimi10381 »

Hi All..
Hope u guys can help me with this problem..

2 centrifugal pumps currently alternately running by weekly basis with discharge is 25 m3/hr respectively...
suction line(4 inches) from same source...discharge line: 2 lines(4inches) combined into 1(4 inches) ..Pump amps: 18..

how to calculate for flow inside the combined line discharge if both pumps running at the same time..from 2 identical sources.

You should know pump characteristics - how flow changes with pressure, and also pipe line characteristics - how much head is required for some flow rate. Based on these information you can draw diagram with pump and pipeline curves to find point of intersection.

Pump characteristic for two pump parallel work is obtained by adding flow values on the same head (pressure).
