Max flow...

Post by laresistance »

Hi guys,

I am very new in gas field. My question is i have 6" pipe and my pressure is approx.69 barg. My max. velocity in pipe 20m/s. (My medium is natural gas) What is the max flow that i can have downstream of the pipe?

Thank you very much

Using pipe diameter calculator I get following results:
CALCULATION REPORT
1. volumetric flow rate (q): q = 1315 m3/h
2. mass flow rate (w): w = 63823.273 kg/h
3. diameter (D): D = 6 in
4. velocity (v): v = 20.024595 m/s
5. cross section area (A): A = 18241.469 mm2
6. pressure of gas (p): p = 70 bar
7. density (ρ): ρ = 48.534805 kg/m3
8. temperature (T): T = 278 K
9. gas constant (R): R = 518.8 J/kgK

see attached image.

Note that 1315 m3/h is on 69 bar g, and on standard conditions (p=101325 Pa, T=288K) it is q=94137 m3/h
