Line sizing

Post by suren »

Dear Comrades,

I have an issue on selecting a right hose size for a temporary diesel air compressor.
We want the diesel air compressor to replace our damaged electrical air compressor:
Below are details of the air compressors:

Electrical Air Compressor:

Maximum Pressure: 290psi
Working Pressure: 230psi
Flowrate: 814cfm
Line Size: 2" connected to a 12' x 5' air receiver.

Diesel Air Compressor:

Working Pressure: 230psi
Flowrate: 750cfm

We have a 1" hydraulic hose hose to transport the compressed air from the diesel air compressor to the air receiver.
Is the 1" hose is sufficient fo this application. (We need 3000cfm of air from the air receiver to start our gas compressor).

Please advise.

You must tell pressure on the start and pressure on the end of also. Also you must know hose length.
You can use air pressure drop calculator.
