Low pressure - high flow

Post by ste1171 »

I have an application which requires a high flow at low pressure.
The application requires approximately 100 cfm at between 10 - 15 psi.
There is another application that requires 200 cfm at the same pressure.

Is it even possible to get such flows a t low pressure?

The 100cfm application would be connected to half inch pipe and the 200cfm to 1 inch pipe.

Is flow not related to pressure....I mean can you not achieve more flow through a given orifice if you increase pressure

Any help would be appreciated.

If you have higher pressure, flow will be higher. If you have bigger diameter flow will be higher. If the pipe length is longer flow will be lower. What is the length of the pipe or is it just orifice?
What is the fluid?
