Pressure drop calculator, cannot copy and paste report.

Post by ytszazu » Thu Mar 31, 2011 10:38 am

Dear sir/madam,

For the java program, this problem occoured:

1) Made a report.
2) Select the text in the report.
3) Press ctrl-C.

Result: Cannot paste data to other location, notepad or word, for example.

Did I miss anything out?

Thank you,

Regards,

Yong

I had the same problem and was a bit perplexed, having used this calculator many times in the past and having happily copied and pasted the reports.

The difference is that I have a new computer with Windows 7 and presumably a new version of Java. A quick hunt on the Google turned up this:

I tried editing the java.policy file as suggested (you need admin privileges to do this) and presto, I can copy and paste again.

Somewhat unbelievable that such basic functionalities can just disappear overnight from Windows or Java or the combination thereof, and this much hassle is required to restore them, but I suppose after some 20 years of this sort of thing, one shouldn't really be so surprised. Anyway, I was annoyed enough to make an account here in the hope that this resolves the problem for someone else as well.

Regards,
