Fluid velocity

Post by levrusgk »

I was using the AIR FLOW calculator, and I think there is a BUG in the way it calculates linear velocity.

EXAMPLE:
Q=0.01 m3/s
D=0.01m
Area=pi*D/4 = pi*0.01/4 = 0.00785m2

Velocity (v1) = Q/area = 0.01/0.00785 = 1.273m/s
**********************************************************************
The calculator, however, reports a Velocity value of 21.45m/s..

Pls SHOW ME THE LIGHT, thanks

you should use D^2 in area formula, and I get 127 m/s with calculator, for Q=0.01 m3/s and D=0.01 m
